Participants of Summer School Marfa present work in progress, inspired by Marfa

Project
27 Februari, 20h00 - 22h00 @ De PUNT, Amsterdam

From 26 May until 14 June 2014, twenty students of Dutch Art Institute and the Sandberg Instituut/Gerrit Rietveld Academie participated in Summer School Marfa, Texas (USA). Accompanied by guest lecturers, tutors and TAAK, the students explored the sociological, natural and cultural meanings of the area. The students will present their videos, installations, documentations of performances on 27 February in De PUNT in Amsterdam.

The small town of Marfa is located about 100 kilometers from the border Mexico-United States in a desert landscape. The town is fascinating for several reasons. Not in the least because of the collections of the Judd Foundation and the Chinati Foundation. Judd moved to Marfa in the early seventies, acquired several buildings where he then lived and worked. He realized several large-scale works that are inextricably linked with the desert landscape.

On 27 February, the following artists will present their work:DAI:
Julieta Aguinaco
Anneke Ingwersen
Constanza Puente Burgos

Sandberg Instituut:
Alice Gancevici & Remus Pușcariu
Gerard Ortin
